2019 Global Health Diplomacy Workshop
The Department of Global Health Policy is pleased to offer another Global Health Diplomacy Workshop facilitated by a selection of experts in from around the world. Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Workshop 2019
The Department of Global Health Policy held a Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Workshop, which has been held on an annual basis since 2016. This year’s facilitators were Assistant Professor Mizanur Rahman and Professor Masahiro Hashizume as well as Professor Erika Ota of St. Luke’s International University. The workshop was held on October 28 – 29, 2019 (10:00-15:30) with a total of 37 participants from the department as well as those outside of the University.
Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Workshop
The Department of Global Health Policy is pleased to offer another Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Workshop facilitated by Mizanur Rahman and Sarah K. Abe September 5th-9th (10:00-15:30). Small Area Analysis of Life Expectancy in Japan
On 23rd July, GHP member Stuart Gilmour gave a seminar to the Japan Life Insurance Foundation on the use of Bayesian small area statistical analysis to understand spatial patterns of life expectancy in Japan. This research was partially funded by the Japan Life Insurance Foundation, and the seminar described the methods that were used and the initial results.
Introduction to ORCID
ORCID Regional Director, Nobuko Miyairi, will introduce ORCID and help participants set up an account. As a non-profit organization, ORCID works with its member organizations to provide interoperable, persistent identifiers for researchers and all contributors in the scholarly community. ORCID is an infrastructure to provide digital connections between a variety of systems such as researcher profile services, journal publishers, manuscript submission systems, institutional repositories, grant management systems, and more. This is an open seminar.

東 京大学大学院 医学系研究科 国際保健政策学教室、一般社団法人アフリカ協会は、12月2日(火)、エボラ出血熱をはじめ感染症研究分野においてアメリカ陸軍感染症 医学研究所(USAMRIID)の統括を務めるSina Bavari博士をお迎えして講演会を開催致します。
感染症研究の世界的権威の一人でもあるBavari博士に、エボラ出血熱治療に関する 最新研究の成果及び今後の見通しに関する発表を行って頂く、国内では大変貴重な機会です。

講演者プロフィール: ネブラスカ大学にて免疫学及び薬理学の博士号を取得。現在、アメリカ陸軍感染症医学研究所(USAMRIID)の研究統括をはじめ様々な要職を務めなが ら、30以上の抗エボラウイルス薬の開発に携わっている。また、世界保健機関(WHO)とビル&メリンダ・ゲイツ財団におけるエボラウイルスに対する治療 薬開発の科学諮問委員会の委員、米国国立衛生研究所 科学顧問委員会の特別顧問でもある。

GHP student Shuhei Nomura attended the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction to present his research in Fukushima from 18th – 23rd May, 2013.
