The Department of Global Health Policy is pleased to host an official side event of the 2016 World Assembly for Women: WAW entitled “International Symposium on Women’s Health” on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 (3:30 – 5:00 p.m). Professor Shibuya and team hosted a Global Health Diplomacy Workshop held at the University of Tokyo May 8-10, 2016. The objective of this workshop was to strengthen the capacity of future leaders in global health diplomacy, with special focus on practical applications such as the proceedings at the World Health Assembly. On May 7th and 8th 2016, Professor Kenji Shibuya chaired the keynote lectures at the International symposium on disaster management and recovery for children and communities in Soma City and moderated a panel discussion. 10 GHP students volunteered at the symposium attended by representatives of politics, the private sector, local hospitals and academia. On Saturday, May 23rd 2015 the School of International Health will host a guidance session for prospective students wishing to begin their studies autumn 2015 and spring 2016. The two hour event starts at 1:30pm in The University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine Building 1 Auditorium. The Department of Global Health Policy is proud to launch the AXA Department of Health and Human Security, to be headed by Professor Manami Inoue. The launch ceremony will be held today at the University of Tokyo. The Department will be officially opened by the President of the University of Tokyo, Dr. Junichi Hamada, and Godefroy Beauvallet, representative of the AXA Research Fund.

On 25th March, all final year students of the Department of Global Health Policy graduated. Five Master’s students and two PhD students successfully graduated, and all five Master’s students achieved the best possible mark for their Master’s theses. Congratulations to all our graduating students!
